Enumeration
1. Meron din palang mga pulubi sa Amerika. Two weeks ago at work, a grubby-looking young man came up to my cash register to buy whatever he could with the few pennies he had at hand. First impression told me that he was a beggar--he wore soiled, tattered and faded clothes. He had uncut fingernails packed with soil underneath, his face greased with some substance that didn't fairly give off a pleasant smell. Out of pity, I gave him a cup for a refillable drink, although it's illegal for us to give away free merchandise. Wala namang nakakita eh.
2. I just received my first month's paycheck and was surprised that it was a little higher than what I've expected! Enough to help my parents pay our rent. I could finally testify to what other people say: here, you really reap what you sow.
3. School has been a breeze for me. I've been collecting A's in my classes (hehe), contrary to my borderline grades in U.P. For this reason, I think I have greater chances of getting into UC Berkeley or some Ivy League in the future--my ultimate dream!
4. I recently hoarded all the Gabriel Garcia Marquez novels from the public library. Talk about my book lust. I am currently reading One Hundred Years of Solitude and Love in the Time of Cholera at the same time!
5. I really miss everyone back in the Philippines and I still cry at night, pondering on what I've been missing. It's too difficult for me to move on!
6. It's already 1:32 pm and I should be walking now to work but I haven't fixed my bushy hair yet. Time surely flies fast when your online, huh?
